beliefs

This web page could go on forever, but let us say briefly that we believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and Savior of all who believe in Him. That the Bible is the Word of God, and provides us with God's will for our lives, practically speaking, and God's "terms" for forgiveness and salvation.

We know that no past is too shameful for God to forgive. All that Scripture asks of us is faith and a broken heart - ready to receive the gifts of grace: permanent forgiveness, the Spirit of God and eternal life. Our sin is real, offensive to God, but capable of being completely washed away.

As a church of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), Stillwaters' pastors and officers are committed to teaching and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, as laid out in the Old and New Testaments and explained in the Westminster Confession of Faith, and earlier summarized in the ancient creeds of the church. We are reformed in theology, yet also strive to incorporate the best of other Christian traditions when we worship.

We don't strive for theological innovation, but rather perseverance, faithfulness and hearts alive and in tune to God's work. There are many, many good churches - both in and out of the PCA - and we are grateful for all of their ministries.

Lastly, we believe in the bodily resurrection of all people, and that those who have trusted Jesus Christ as their Savior will be "heirs" of the kingdom of God, and those who have rejected Christ will continue to reject Christ in everlasting punishment.
